The purpose behind this illustration is to paint the film Nacho Libre in a different light. This is a montage poster featuring the main characters blending into the sunset over the Oaxacan countryside, where the story takes place. The film is a comedy so I decided to paint very serious portraits of each character as a juxtaposition of the film’s genre. I chose to employ a more painterly approach, and finer line-work to push the feeling of an “epic story” or “odyssey”.
