My focus for this illustration was to create a scene featuring ASICS shoes and sportswear while maintaining a balance between figure and ground. In using contrasting value and color, the viewer’s eye is carried across the composition picking up secondary details that play on the themes of modern and retro. Colors are meant to mimic what you would see in a metropolitan area during night creating an urban feeling that is supported by the city skyline in the background.
