Typically arid planet scenes are viewed during the day with a bright blistering sun and endless sand/stone. I wanted to create an arid planet scene that made it seem less desolate and more majestic. From the beginning I wanted to include some sort of floating rock element. I decided to create a scene where the alignment of three celestial bodies are causing the peaks of some mountains to float.
